GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The 2020 football season was one of the most challenging in decades, with teams forced to deal with the loss of spring practice due to COVID-19 and having to constantly adjust to new protocols throughout the season as different challenges related to the global pandemic presented themselves.
Through it all, student-athletes still had to maintain their performance in the classroom, which turned mostly into a virtual learning environment.
Despite those challenges, Florida managed to place 27 scholarship players on the SEC’s Fall Academic Honor Roll. Counting walk-ons, the Gators placed 55 honorees on the list, breaking the SEC league record which was previously held by Arkansas at 47.
