A pair of Gators – Gabrielle Gallentine and Trinity Thomas – collected Southeastern Conference weekly gymnastics honors after No. 1 Florida’s win versus No. 24 Missouri.
Gallentine is the SEC Freshman Gymnast of the Week. This is Gallentine’s first such honor of her Gator career and UF’s first SEC Freshman of the Week award since the 2019 season.
Thomas claims her second SEC Gymnast of the Week honor of 2021, and this is the 13th such honor of her career. This honor goes to a Gator for the second consecutive week, as senior Megan Skaggs collected the honor in the final week of January.
Gabrielle Gallentine – SEC Freshman of the Week:
* Raised her collegiate best on bars to 9.925 to share second versus Missouri
* Bars mark versus Missouri upped collegiate best by a tenth
* Highest score by an SEC freshman in Week 4 competition
Trinity Thomas – SEC Gymnast of the Week:
* Equaled her own national leading all-around total (39.75) to claim all-around win
* Also won vault (9.925), balance beam (9.95), and floor exercise (9.95)
* Won 11 event titles through Florida’s first four meets
* Current national rankings – vault (No. 4 – 9.919), bars (No. 1 – 9.931), floor (No. T14 – 9.894) and all-around (No. 7 – 39.431)
